Stonington Ice Cream Company serves sixteen flavors of delicious ice cream but is also acclaimed for its award-winning lobster rolls. Stonington Ice Cream offers a menu of special sandwiches, lobster and crab quiches and salads, summer soups, and brownies and cookies. Tables are located on the deck at the edge of Stonington harbor and take-away is available.
Stonington, Maine is the lobster capital of the world. The Town has over one hundred and eighty lobster boats in the fleet. Stonington Ice Cream Company buys lobsters early each morning from the Stonington Lobster Co-op down the street from our kitchen. By 11 AM lobsters are ready to be served, guaranteeing the freshest lobster rolls available anywhere. In 2017 we were semi-finalists in Downeast Magazine’s contest for the World’s Best Lobster Rolls. Customers constantly confirm this lofty acclamation. Our smoked haddock is an award-winning product from Richard Penfold’s Stonington Sea Food. Crab meat is supplied by Sue Buxton’s Day Boat Fresh Seafood, also in Stonington.
We are located on scenic Stonington harbor; the town dock across the street provides easy access for visitors arriving by boat. Take out service provides lunches for sailors and visitors to nearby islands.
